What really left a sour taste in my mouth twice already is the unexpected addition of a tip to the bill without any prior notice. While I understand that tipping is customary, I believe it should be at the discretion of the customer, not automatically added without informing us. This lack of transparency felt quite unprofessional and leaves me feeling a bit taken advantage of. In comparison, I had a much better experience at Maharani in Peniche. The staff there are friendlier, and the food is of higher quality, making the overall dining experience far more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a more pleasant and satisfying meal, I would recommend trying the restaurant in Peniche instead. We often go there when we want to have Indian food even though we stay in Area Branca.

The food was incredible, the service excellent. My two year old twins sat and happily tucked into some poppadoms, we had a lovely meal and a few beers/wines.

Not a single element of the food was lacking anything - my 13 year old felt so strongly about the amazing standard of cuisine that she’s also written her own review which I will post below.

Thanks you to the staff and chef - holidays are made by experiences and it was a pleasure to enjoy such a lovely meal with our family who live here in Portugal.

I WOULD OF DIED!!!

we just went out for like THE best Indian ever. and I'm not very fond of an Indian but I could eat at that restaurant for the rest of my life. the rice was moist the chicken was so nice the battered prawns we amazing and the chips were up there near McDonald's chips. AND THE BIRYANI SAUCE!!!!! I could of drunk it it was so nice. and the people were so lovely to us. and they loved the twins. AND I THINK THEY DO THE BEST NAAN EVER. they did a cheesy garlic one and the cheese was inside of the naan and the cheese was like Philadelphia. ugh i could eat it forever!!! 😂😍❤️ xx
